Hopi Ear Candling
A gentle relaxing non-invasive treatment which can help some ear, nose and throat conditions. An alternative to syringing or grommets.
Hollow tubes made of cotton, soaked in beeswax, honey and herbs are gently inserted into the outer ear. When lit, the candle acts like a chimney, causing the warm air inside it to rise creating a vacuum at the bottom. This vacuum gently stimulates the ear, facilitating removal of excess wax and impurities. The burning of the candle helps to equalise pressure and may ease inner ear problems.
Helps to relieve symptoms of sinusitis, rhinitis, glue-ear, tinnitus, hay fever, catarrh, colds, flu, headaches, vertigo and swimmer ears. Encourages gentle removal of excessive or compacted ear wax. Eases ear discomfort experienced during and after flying/diving. Can help reduce snoring as it can open up the nasal passages and relieve congestion. It can also help improve muffled hearing. Promotes general relaxation and well-being.
A lymphatic drainage massage that uses gentle pressure and rhythmic strokes is included within the hopi ear candling treatment. Which helps to remove excess fluid, toxins and waste from the face and neck. This can help to decongest the sinuses and other areas of the face prone to fluid buildup.
You will be lying on your side on a treatment couch, supported by cushions and a towel will cover you hairline for safety. To accomplish the lymphatic drainage on your face and neck you will be lying on your back, with a pillow under your head.
Many clients report feeling a gentle soothing warmth and a pleasant popping and crackling sound as the candle burns down. Some even experience a "wave-like" sensation in the ears. They also find the treatment to be deeply relaxing and calming, with some experiencing a sense of mental, physical, and emotional relaxation.
Vicki only uses pesticide free, unbleached woven cotton with pure beeswax and are 100% Organic. The candles are filtered to prevent any back-flow returning to the ear candle.

Vicki started her career as a Massage Therapist at Neal’s Yard Remedies Treatment Rooms over 19 years ago, after qualifying in Holistic and Advanced Massage in at the Alison Rostron School of Massage in Norwich.
Over her career Vicki has worked self-employed at other Health & Wellbeing Clinics in Norwich and joined the team at Treat in 2016.
For seven years Vicki did on-site Massage Treatments at the head office of Virgin Money in Norwich. To help improve staff well-being, reduce absenteeism and help to alleviate work stress, tension and help ease muscular aches & pains, as part of their employee company healthcare benefits. Vicki also assisted hundreds of staff members that trained to run the Virgin Money London Marathon by doing regular sports massages, which helped everyone of them to get over the finishing line and receive their medals.
In 2016 Vicki diversified qualifying in ITEC Diploma's levels 2 & 3 in Beauty Therapy with The Norwich School of Beauty, and carried on learning new beauty therapy skills but always comes back to her love of massage.
Vicki has spent many years enhancing her range and types of therapies, continually improving her knowledge so she can offer new and existing clients the best possible care!
