Cranio-Sacral Therapy in Norwich

How can Cranio-Sacral Therapy help?

Patients seek help for issues ranging from back pain, migraine, and digestive problems to insomnia, anxiety or depression. Others come for ongoing support in meeting the challenges of a busy active modern life style.

Who can it help?

Cranio-sacral Therapy is gentle and non-invasive and suitable for everyone from newborns to the elderly. Patients range from mothers and babies with problems associated with difficult or traumatic births, construction workers with pain associated with heavy labour, office workers with stress related symptoms and those of us feeling the the effects of ageing.

How does it work?

Cranio-sacral therapy is a hands-on therapy which assists the body's natural capacity for self-healing. It helps to build resources increases resilience and self regulation.
It aims to support the body’s innate ability to balance, restore and heal itself, as well as helping to reduce stress and build underlying energy. The practitioner senses tensions in the body and helps to release them in a supported and comfortable way. During or after a session you may feel calm and energised, with increased clarity of mind and a feeling of well-being.

What happens in a session?

Your practitioner will listen with care to the reasons for your visit. This part of the session is important, both for gathering information and to establish a good understanding with your practitioner. Typically, it will last an hour, during treatment patients remain clothed lying face up or on their side. There may be light contact with the head, the base of the spine, and other areas, encouraging your body to relax and begin to make the changes it needs. Because the body functions as a whole, as the session progresses, your practitioner may focus on areas other than where your symptoms occur.

Practitioners
Gary Collins

Gary qualified as a Pharmacist in 1984 and worked for large and small companies and eventually purchased my own. Due to interest in Martial Arts, I studied karate for a number of years after obtaining a black belt. I taught on many occasions from 1986.

I undertook an Acupuncture training in 1996. During this time I discovered Qi Gong & Tai Chi which I find gives people a way to support their own systems. I have been practising Qi Gong for the last 20 years and I am now undergoing my teacher training within the 5 Element System. Whilst studying acupuncture I also discovered Craniosacral Therapy and went on to qualify as a therapist in 2000.

I have deepened into the practice with many advanced courses over the years (Shock & Trauma, Prenatal Development Pregnancy; particularly in embryonic and cardiovascular work, Neuroendocrine & Immune System & Stress Response). This work allows a deepening mindful connection with our own inherent health to enable us to become more resourceful self-regulating and resilient.
