Are you Summer Ready?

Are you Summer Ready?

5 Lesser Known Treatments to Prepare You for Summer

It’s officially summer and what a difference it can make to how your body feels but also how you feel emotionally and mentally too. Why does the summer have such a positive impact on many of us? It’s largely down to the link between the extra sunlight and our serotonin levels (the feel-good hormone). This means we’re also much more likely to be making plans and being outdoors more. We thought we’d mark the occasion by sharing five lesser-known summer treatments to help you feel ready for the season ahead.

1) Acupuncture to Combat Summer Insomnia: Did you know that an acupuncture session can help you to manage summer? Not only can it help your body tune into the season but it can also support issues that arise this time of year. For example, some people are sensitive to the sun and heat and others find their sleep is impacted. For those experiencing perimenopause or menopausal symptoms hot flushes and irritability may also feel exaggerated this time of year. An acupuncture session can help with anything from aches and pains following increased exercise, insomnia and other sleep issues, headaches and menopausal symptoms.

2) Organic Facials to Defend Against the Sun: Many people think of manicures and pedicures as their go-to summer treatments. But actually, a really good quality facial can be so beneficial for your skin during the warmer weeks. Try an organic & vegan aromatherapy facial treatment to cleanse, exfoliate and detox summer skin. This type of treatment is also great for targeting the signs of ageing, acne and pigmentation, which are all aspects of skin health impacted by the sun. These treatments lead to brighter,  smoother skin. (Always opt for an organic & vegan skincare range at home where possible, to really nourish your skin and to carry on the many benefits after your facial treatment.

3) Give Your Eyelash & Eyebrows an MOT: Eyelash and eyebrow treatments are a great consideration for the summer months. You’ll only need a couple of treatments during the summer as they can last up to 8 weeks and it’s worth the investment.  Afterall, your eyelashes and eyebrows defines your face. Waxing will remove any hairs from the follicle and a ‘shape & tidy’ tweezers out stray hairs and trims long eyebrows. A tint visibly darkens your eyelashes and eyebrows, which means you can opt for a natural look this summer without worrying about applying as much make-up.

4) More benefits than a Pedicure: A foot treatment can improve the texture, health and look of both your nails and the skin on your feet. This is a great treatment that’s more beneficial than your standard pedicure. Look for treatments using paraben-free, cruelty free and vegan friendly products. It will leave your skin hydrated and soft with nourished strengthened toenails – you’ll be happy to forgo the coloured polish and show off your pampered toes.

5) 22 Different Massages: There’s nothing more soothing than a massage, especially during summer when we’re more active and needing a little TLC for any aches and pains. Receiving a massage can be incredibly rejuvenating, balancing and grounding. It can help to alleviate stress and tension or focus on isolated aches and pains. Did you know that there are a variety of massages you can select, depending on your focus? (Guess what? Here at Treat we offer twenty-three different types!)
