5 Ways to Mark Valentine’s 2025
How do you like to celebrate Valentine’s? Or maybe you don’t. A bouquet of flowers are always lovely to receive, as are a box of good-quality chocolates. However, this Valentine’s Day, what about celebrating in a less traditional way? If you’re looking for something a little different, we thought we’d send some ideas across about how you might spend 14th February with your loved one(s).
Of course, Valentine’s Day doesn't need to focus on a romantic relationship. Love comes in different forms, as established by Greek philosophers many moons ago. Whether it’s Storge (love between parents and children), Ludus (playful love, flirting and seducing), Philia (affectionate love between friendships), Agape (a love for humanity), or possibly our favourite here at Treat, Philautia (self-love).
Fast-forward a few hundred years, these days there’s Galentine’s, an alternative that can be celebrated with other female friendships, and then there’s the idea of an Anti-Valentine, a celebration of being single. Another contrasting way to celebrate Valentine’s is Singles Awareness Day, known as SAD, often marked on 14 February.
Here are just a few ways you can celebrate with us here at Treat…
1. Book Couples Massage…Forget spa day prices and stay local, book a couples massage for you and your partner here at Treat Norwich. Our therapists at Treat can accommodate two people in the same room. Just £110 for a 60 minute, or £150 for a 90 minute couples massage (cost covers both people).
2. Galentine’s facial…If you’re single or with a partner that doesn’t celebrate Valentine’s, why not mark it with the girls and enjoy Galentine’s together. (Feel free to create your own version of Galentine’s depending on your pronouns.) Try Treat’s organic and vegan aromatherapy facial treatment (£45 for 60 mins) to cleanse and detox winter skin. This type of treatment is also great for targeting the signs of ageing or breakouts and signs of winter skin.
3. Self-Love Foot Treatment… These are great treatments to indulge in to celebrate you - give yourself a bit of self-love. Foot Treatments also add a bit of glamour and luxury to your day, plus will leave your winter skin hydrated and soft. You can choose from - A Foot Reviver, Callus Peel or even a Aromatherapy Foot Massage which includes a mineral foot scrub, foot, ankle & calf massage and an intensive nail and cuticle treatment oil. (Why not also treat yourself to a Danomeys afterwards? A great brunch place just a two-minute walk from Treat Norwich.)
4. Give the gift of wellness (via a multi-bed acupuncture session)… Why not give the gift of wellness? Book a session on our acupuncture multi-bed (£38 for 75 mins) for a loved one. Acupuncture can help with injuries, insomnia, headaches, back pain, fertility support and a wide range of other issues. A multi-bed is where you are treated in the same room as others, with a privacy curtain for each person. It’s commonplace to treat people together in this way. (Rest assured, the acupuncturist is always nearby and will regularly pop over to check on you, should you need anything.) We don’t have any slots on Valentine’s but at time of writing we do have plenty of spaces on Wednesday 12th February and the following weeks.
5. Couples & Pairs Massage Workshop…Learn how to massage each other. Why not book onto our workshop taking place on 1st March (1-5pm) and together with your partner or friend, learn how to provide a relaxing back, neck and shoulder massage for someone. Cost: £125 per couple/pair (£62.50 per person). Available Places: 5 couples/pairs per workshop.
Valentine’s lands on a Friday this year - you might like to book a full day or half day off work to be together. We still have some slots for Valentine’s Day itself. Or pop along on Saturday 15th February, where we also have some availability before lunchtime.
