Mummy MOT In Norwich

Mummy MoT In Norwich

If you are a new(ish) Mum you know the phrase "Pregnancy and childbirth are life changing" really means what it says - but you might not know about the impacts they can have on the body. Having a baby,  and carrying  and nursing infants can affect "everything". Childbirth can cause issues ranging from aches and pains, back and pelvic pain, tummy gapping, through to stress or urgency incontinence, and prolapse.

Mummy Mot is a full postnatal physio assessment and a tailored program of exercise to help all mums regain core strength and avoid the potential long term adverse effects of childbirth.

What is a Mummy MOT®?

The Mummy MOT® is a detailed postnatal physiotherapy assessment of the abdominal and pelvic area. It will check posture, breathing, tummy gap and pelvic floor strength. We give you the findings on the day and prescribe an appropriate safe exercise programme.

The Mummy MOT System combines physiotherapy assessment with functional retraining. Pregnancy and childbirth cause postural changes, muscle imbalances and altered alignment and these can persist after birth. It is essential to correct and rebalance otherwise pain, prolapse, urinary incontinence or rectus diastasis (tummy gapping) can persist. Left untreated, these issues can lead to long term problems and difficulty in returning to daily functionally activities safely.

Mums need to bend, lift, squat, twist so come and learn how to do these activities safely and in ways that will help heal your body postnatally!

Who needs a Mummy MOT®?
After childbirth, Most women have weaknesses  in either the tummy or pelvic floor that can cause instability and poor core strength, issues that can lead to  back pain, pelvic pain, bladder and bowel weakness . To avoid any long term childbirth related complaints come early and get your tummy gap and pelvic floor tested – then start an optimal postnatal recovery programme.
