Alan is a graduate of the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine where he trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture. This comprehensive training allows Alan to provide the most suitable treatment for the patient's needs, whether physical or emotional. He came to acupuncture after experiencing its effects first hand and developed a passion for transforming people's health in a natural, drug free way.
He began working in the Ilford Cancer and Holistic Help Centre (Sue's House) to provide support for those affected by cancer alongside and following conventional treatment. As a cancer survivor, himself, this is an area of special interest for him, and he's recently joined Treat to continue working to help those affected by cancer and other significant illness in the Friday Cancer Support and Fatigue community clinic. When not at Treat, Alan can be found in Cambridge where he has run the 'Cambridge Affordable Acupuncture' community clinic for over 6 months.

Annie's journey as a therapist began with training and experience at Relate, which led to a deeper interest in exploring therapeutic interventions. She went on to study a family therapy course provided by the NHS , which proved to be so rewarding on multiple levels, professional and personal that she went on to train on an NHS course in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. As a teacher and qualified social worker, and these additional qualifications in Psychotherapy, Annie joined the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) as a tutor and trainer for counsellors. Eventually family life took her to London where she worked for a relationship agency in 'relationship enhancement' and later for "Place2Be" as a Hub Manager overseeing Therapy in ten primary schools. Further training in areas such as clinical supervision and trauma therapy led her to her current, part time, role with the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), an organisation that protects children. She has other work in the psychotherapeutic field, and also enjoy being a mum and grandmother, which is a source of constant fascination.
Annie has wide ranging experience in psychotherapy and counselling with a special interest in Couples Counselling and treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Chloe had her first taste of yoga backpacking across Nepal and India. She went on to explore a variety of yoga styles whilst studying at university, living in Japan and travelling Asia before falling in love with the creativity and organic movement of Vinyasa flow yoga. After starting a regular Vinyasa and Ashtanga practice, Chloe soon discovered the physical and mental benefits of yoga. She believes that yoga teaches us how to live better -becoming attuned to our bodies and emotions can help equip us with tools to cope with the many demands and stresses of modern life.
In January 2019 she returned to India to train in Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa Flow and is now a 200 hours accredited yoga teacher.
Suitable for all abilities, her class finds a balance between the physical and meditative power of yoga. With moving asanas, pranayama and meditation, Chloe's vinyasa flow classes build strength, improve flexibility and calm the mind.
When not practicing yoga, Chloe can be found dog walking, planning her next travel adventure or with her nose in a good book.
Chris spent five years travelling and working in Europe in the 1970s before she and her husband settled in Norfolk where they had their two children. Once they started school, Chris returned to education and gained her degree and PGCE at the University of East Anglia. She has more than 25 years’ experience working as a teacher, senior leader and schools’ adviser. She has extensive experience as a trainer, leading courses to develop the knowledge and understanding of school staff in the areas of child development, attachment and trauma-informed approaches. In more recent years and after further study, Chris has worked with teams supporting children and families and she has run courses to support foster and adoptive parents and their families.
Chris is fascinated and inspired by the ever-deepening knowledge and understanding of the brain and body that neuroscience gives us and how that is now being woven into the understanding and practice of clinicians and professionals in health, education and social care. She is now a freelance consultant and trainer and has recently developed a 6-week course to run at Treat:
Claire is a chartered physiotherapist trained in Pilates, which she uses for injury rehabilitation and to help clients manage or overcome long term health problems such as arthritis or osteoporosis. She’s recently started working with Rosie Taylor's "wellfitmumma" team providing Monday & Wednesday “musculoskeletal Physiotherapy clinics” addressing musculoskeletal issues, including back , upper or lower limb injuries , sports and work related injuries and to offer general physiotherapy, She also treats pregnant clients for remedial pregnancy massage & 1-1 rehab Pilates.
Over the past 9 years Claire has used exercise rehabilitation for health, wellbeing and recovery around the world, working in London, York and Melbourne in Australia. She returned to Norwich on a permanent basis in 2014 and has been part of the Treat team from day one, initially teaching weekly Pilates classes and individual sessions to individuals, small groups and local businesses in Norwich. She has continued to develop her skills, training to teach Pilates to people living with and recovering from cancer treatment, using exercise to overcome the effects of surgery and limit the impact of fatigue or medication on health and wellbeing. She is also a trained massage therapist providing Swedish, Sports pregnancy, oncology and “TMJD massage” (for people with issues related to temporo-mandibular joint disorder) at treat Norwich and recently qualified as a physiotherapist.
From her work, training and own experience Claire understands that it is often the quality, not the quantity of movement that determines health, fitness and sporting success. She was drawn to pilates because its principles of alignment, concentration and control emphasise emphasis standing, moving and exercising with correct technique. She incorporates these essential pilates techniques into her physiotherapy practice and adapts Pilates classes and sessions to individual needs, often using small equipment or supports to improve technique and make the exercises more effective.

For the past 30 years Deborah has followed her passion for providing healing therapies and supporting people on their journey to wellness in body, mind and spirit. Over the years she has built a successful healing practice offering reflexology, acupressure, therapeutic and remedial massage and reiki healing.
Deborah’s special interests are in the spiritual and energetic nature of all things and she has read a wide range of esoteric, spiritual and health-related books and articles. With a close friend and colleague she wrote a book of channelled wisdom and developed and taught meditation based workshops for spiritual wellbeing. On the death of this dear friend Deborah decided to change direction and follow her dream of becoming an acupuncturist and of learning the spirit and philosophy of Chinese Medicine.
Deborah’s acupuncture training was with the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, UK, graduating in 2015, integrating two systems of Chinese Medicine – TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and the 5 Element Theory, enabling the patient to be treated constitutionally, individually and symptomatically.
With years of healing practice and hundreds of hours of supervised clinical practice, Deborah works as part of the multi-bed acupuncture team and brings a calm healing energy and a grounded wisdom to the clinic that appeals to patients who have described her as the ‘Mother Earth’ of the clinic.

Gary qualified as a Pharmacist in 1984 and worked for large and small companies and eventually purchased my own. Due to interest in Martial Arts, I studied karate for a number of years after obtaining a black belt. I taught on many occasions from 1986.
I undertook an Acupuncture training in 1996. During this time I discovered Qi Gong & Tai Chi which I find gives people a way to support their own systems. I have been practising Qi Gong for the last 20 years and I am now undergoing my teacher training within the 5 Element System. Whilst studying acupuncture I also discovered Craniosacral Therapy and went on to qualify as a therapist in 2000.
I have deepened into the practice with many advanced courses over the years (Shock & Trauma, Prenatal Development Pregnancy; particularly in embryonic and cardiovascular work, Neuroendocrine & Immune System & Stress Response). This work allows a deepening mindful connection with our own inherent health to enable us to become more resourceful self-regulating and resilient.

Gemma’s started her career as primary school teacher. She spent ten year working in many different areas, including special educational needs schools and alternative provisions. During this time she developed increasing concerns about children’s mental health in education, recognising that children cannot learn if they are stressed, anxious and have a negative self-image.
As a keen yoga practitioner from a young age, Gemma embarked upon a 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training Diploma and then found Special Yoga and it all clicked into place. She had found a therapeutic approach for children which could help them feel regulated, calm and peaceful.
Special Yoga therapy was developed by Jyoti Manuel of Special Yoga. The methodology is based on the belief that all children are special and deserve to experience peace joy and fulfilment of their potential and purpose. Moreover, all children are special regardless of abilities, appearance, culture, gender, race or the assumptions society has placed on them.

George Bavin BA (Hons), CPE, LPC, ITEC (Sports Massage Association registered)
Following a legal career, George instigated some fundamental changes in his life and began to work in the Health and Social Care sector with people who had suffered a traumatic spinal injury. He also worked alongside clients struggling with progressive degenerative conditions and with others at the very end of their lives.
During this time George became aware of massage as a form of therapy. He was impressed with its healing value and in particular, the positive impact it has on physical health and mental well-being.
He also found that people responded well to him as a Carer, his calm and personable demeanour relaxed and comforted his clients.
In June 2015, George went on to obtain the ITEC Level 4 Sports Massage qualification. Since then he has been steadily building a reputation for consistently delivering high quality massage focused on meeting the needs of his clients. He enjoys event work, particularly if the weather is good, and embraces opportunities for professional development.
George works to maintain a high level of physical fitness and is committed to the study of Tai Chi.
This Chinese martial art focuses on self-awareness through movement, like a form of active meditation. Awareness of his body’s positioning has helped George improve his posture and resolve his own back pain, thus promoting his longevity as a Massage Therapist.
For George, Massage Therapy is key to achieving his ambition: to facilitate anybody, athlete or otherwise, achieve their optimum. He can help you to prevent injuries and promote recovery: to enhance your performance, promote your self- confidence, and provide you with some guilt free head space in which to unwind.

‘For me, counselling is a process, a collaboration between you and me. I am not a fixer, therefore, I will not fix your problems or tell you what to do. I will not give you advice on what is best for you or how to live your life. I understand that starting counselling could be concerning; I will give you time to go at your own pace and full attention for you to explore what is troubling you and what matters for you. We will work together; we might explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviours to help you get insight and a better understanding of yourself and your needs.
Knowing yourself and getting clarity about your situation can provide the foundation for change. I offer a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space to talk about things that are troubling and concerning you.

Kathy Payne is a Women’s Hormone Health and Fertility Coach, Preconception Care Practitioner, Homeopath and Homeobotanicals Therapist working here at Treat. Kathy also works with Acupuncturist Rebecca Geanty. They offer joint packages of care to women through www.lifeandcycles.co.uk also based at Treat.
"I’m on a mission. A mission to calm hormone havoc and modern life madness. Naturally.
If you’re a woman suffering haywire hormones, I’m your gal.
My special interests are:
pre-menopause - those baffling symptoms you get in your 30s and 40s when you think you’re far too hip and happening for the M word
stress and energy.
You’d be amazed how many common symptoms are down to hormones – weight gain, sleeplessness, low immune system and many more.
I tailor my approach to YOU. Because you are unique and special and deserve to be treated that way. Here at treat (and you WILL be) and everywhere else.
You’ll find me a Wellbeing Fairy Godmother not the Health Police. I believe that by choosing good habits at least 80% of the time we’ll be healthier, happier and more balanced.
I’m a glass half-full, rose tinted specs wearing, positive kinda person. You can expect hugs and humour served with your professional support and encouragement.
And I help using a unique combo of health coaching with nutrition and lifestyle guidance, preconception care, homeopathy, herbal tinctures, natural fertility awareness and hair testing.
But I wasn’t always a Health Coach. Oh no.
I’m a reformed tired, tubby and tetchy Corporate Stress Bunny. I lost over 2 stone and tamed my own haywire hormones and awful ailments by living well and natural therapies.
Maybe you could too. With my help.
Here at treat, I offer packages of care by myself and I also work with others to support women and couples to reach their goals."

I started my career as a children’s Nanny working both in the UK and the USA. The care of children and the support of parents is close to my heart. I returned to the UK and worked in the ‘old’ Norfolk and Norwich Hospital in various wards before settling on Quinton Ward, a unit for children aged 0-2 years before moving to other wards for children up to 18 years.
Over the years and with more training and experience I began working with children with life limiting and life-threatening conditions. I also became a foster carer caring for children with disabilities. It was through this work that I retrained and became a children’s social worker, working with a number of families, offering support and guidance before becoming the manager of a Norfolk Children’s Centre.
In 2013 after redundancy I started my own business named “One to Cherish” https://onetocherish.co.uk/classes, focusing on the support of parents and their children. The work includes developing the Onesie Baby Prep programme, a class for parents to be to prepare them for caring for their new-born baby and teaching the IAIM Baby Massage programme both on a one to one basis and in group classes. I have worked with all families including parents and carers who are adopters and foster carers.
Becoming a parent can be hard and sometimes lonely. My passion is supporting parents, carers and their babies, offering them the tools to build confidence, support emotional well-being to network with other people who offer them strength.
Midwife, antenatal educator and hypnobirthing practitioner, Molly has practised as a midwife for 20 years in both hospital and community settings, attending hundreds of women in labour. She is also been an associate lecturer at the University of East Anglia (UEA). Her area of expertise is physiological birth, hypnobirth and waterbirth, but she also has a wealth of experience in complex birth. She recently retired from full time clinical midwifery in an NHS midwife-led birth unit to focus on running courses for both colleagues and for women. She is an expert in normal, straightforward birth, and how to keep it that way.
Molly chose to switch from nursing to midwifery after giving birth to her own children ignited a passion for the powerful and unforgettable experience of becoming a mother. In twenty years of clinical practice little has delighted her more than witnessing the calm, confident births of women who trust in their bodies and birth instinctively. A key element of such births has been a lack of fear. Molly understands through her work how fear interferes with normal physiology, and how various factors, increased medicalisation, media sensationalism, and a less closely socially connected world have all helped bring fear into the birthing room.
Molly is an advocate of hypnobirthing, she trained as a hypnobirth practitioner on a course specifically for midwives because: “it’s an excellent tool, transforming fear into the calm confidence that gives women the best possible chance of a normal birth.”
In her practice she always took a "salutogenic" view of birth and throughout her career has studied and trained in techniques to help "keep birth normal". The techniques she learned and developed worked so well she started teaching them to students and staff in her hospital - this has evolved into a one day "Biomechanics for Birth training day for midwives and other birth workers that she regularly takes to Spain and has gone as far afield as Chile as well as venues across the UK.
She also teaches "Moving for and Easier Birth" for women - demonstrating a series of "tricks of the trade" that can help get labour moving and keep labouring women more comfortable in pregnancy as well as whist giving birth and has just added one to one debriefing sessions for women who are struggling to come to terms with their birth experiences

My journey to Health Kinesiology started when I was at university and all of a sudden I started getting this terrible abdominal pain. The pain was so bad that I could not move, I had an increased heart rate and I was short of breath.
I went to my GP who said it seemed like I had IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) but I needed a blood test and an ultrasound scan to rule out anything else. My GP advised me that IBS can be caused by stress and diet, that sometimes it happened to due lack of fibre in a diet or sometimes due to too much fibre in a diet. Luckily my blood test and scan came back clear so I tried a low fibre and a high fibre diet but sadly to no avail.
I happened to meet an Australian lady and what she said changed my life forever. She told me that she had suffered like I had and nothing the doctors had advised had worked for her and she had found a Kinesiologist who had helped her.
Although I didn’t know anything about Kinesiology I went with an open mind and felt such tremendous improvement after only one session. Without Kinesiology I would not have been able to graduate from university.
After I graduated I wanted to spread the word about this incredible therapy, the wonders it can do and I also wanted to help people the same way it helped me. I studied Health Kinesiology and Touch for Health Kinesiology with Health Kinesiology UK in London and qualified last year. Now, here I am, as a passionate Health Kinesiologist ready to help you transform your life!

treat’s founder and proprietor Rebecca works as a registered Traditional Acupuncturist, specialising in natural fertility for men and women. With over eight years experience running her own practice and a BsC (Hons) from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM) she has helped countless patients with a variety of mental, emotional and physical conditions.
In 2010 Rebecca created Norwich Acupuncture Rooms at the Orange Grove Clinic as a way of making acupuncture more accessible and affordable to a wide range of people. In China acupuncture is a very common practice and recommended weekly to begin with for effective treatment. Rebecca’s goal was to replicate this in the Western world with the multi-bed setting to allow patients the option of weekly treatment at a more affordable price.
A year later Rebecca also set up the Acupuncture Childbirth Team for East Anglia (ACT), which acts as an acupuncture network for other practitioners to share and learn information on natural birth techniques and pregnancy-related complaints.
Rebecca’s latest passion is treat – a unique holistic clinic where the practitioners all strive to work together for the people of Norwich; combining their skills and knowledge in providing one-to-one care and group sessions/workshops, which empower and educate people to reach a state of wellbeing and contentment. Norwich Acupuncture Rooms is now an integral part of treat.

Sam’s interest in health and bodywork began over 10 years ago through practising Tai Chi and Qigong. He was immediately fascinated with the concept of qi and how this energy interacts within people and the environment. This interest directed him down various routes of complementary medicine including kinesiology, reiki and massage.
His continued enthusiasm for Chinese philosophy inspired Sam to study Chinese medicine. Specialising in Traditional Chinese Medical acupuncture, Sam completed his acupuncture training at Westminster in London.
As a professional therapist Sam offers a deeply relaxing Tui Na massage and works as part of the multi-bed acupuncture team at treat. Treatments are aimed at uncovering the underlying cause of a patient’s symptoms and health concerns, helping the body to repair and rebalance naturally.

Vicki started her career as a Complementary Therapist at Neal’s Yard Remedies treatment rooms after qualifying in Holistic and Advanced Massage in 2006 at Alison Rostron School of Massage. She steadily built up her client base and kept studying to gain further qualifications at the Jackie Hamilton School of Therapies.
Next came an opportunity to do on-site complementary therapy treatments at the Virgin Money offices in Norwich. For seven years Vicki was able to help improve staff wellbeing as part of their employee company healthcare benefits, which helps alleviate work stress and tension.
At The Orange Grove Clinic Vicki kept improving on her range of therapies for her clients to benefit from adding Hydrotherm massage and advanced pregnancy massage to her ever-evolving repertoire.
At A Fine Retreat treatment rooms Vicki went on to diversify and add to her skills and knowledge by studying ITEC levels 2 & 3 in Beauty Therapy with The Norwich School of Beauty.
Vicki joined the team at treat to work alongside highly professional like-minded practitioners. She loves being part of a team that gives a high level of holistic care to its clients. And to work in a wonderful space that has been lovingly renovated to create a calming and spacious environment in the heart of Norwich.
