Massage techniques and positioning are tailored through the stages of your pregnancy to help ensure comfort, safety, relaxation and the well-being of you and your baby. A Pregnancy Massage can help to relieve minor ailments associated with pregnancy such as lower back pain. There is no set routine as the massage is changed and adapted to fit your specific requirements on the day of your massage, catering for what you want and need when you come to see us.
Regular massage throughout your pregnancy can help release muscular tension and reduced swelling in hands & feet. Aid the function of the digestive system, improve circulation, increases mobility and flexibility. As well as relieving stress and encouraging relaxation. It can help strengthen the immune system to help prepare the body physically, mentally and emotionally for the birth.
Treatment should be booked from your first trimester.
Pregnancy Induction Massage
A Pregnancy Induction Massage treatment consists of three elements – relaxing pregnancy massage, labour inducing aromatherapy essential oils and acupressure points to help induce birth naturally.
Massage – There is no set routine as the massage is changed and adapted to fit your specific requirements. You will positioned on your side on a treatment couch for the duration of the treatment with cushions under your head, between your legs or under your bump. During the massage levels of the stress hormone norepinephrine and cortisol will be decreasing due to the relaxing nature of the massage; whilst the ‘feel-good’ hormones serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin will be increasing – leaving you feeling calm and relaxed.
Aromatherapy Essential oils – A tailor-made aromatherapy blend of very specific labour inducing essential oils in evening primrose carrier oil to help assist in stimulating uterine contractions, spur things on naturally, reducing aches and pains. Also reducing anxiety and stress, calming the emotions.
Acupressure Points – is a technique using finger and thumb pressure on specific points on the body it can be a great way to naturally get things going. There are six major points on the body that can help to induce labour. Working on these can aid ripening of the cervix, stimulate dilation and bring on contractions.
Not recommended before 40 weeks gestation – success rate is likely to be higher after 41 weeks. Always check with your midwife before seeking this treatment.

Vicki started her career 15 years ago as a Complementary Therapist at Neal’s Yard Remedies Treatment Rooms after qualifying in Holistic and Advanced Massage in 2006 at Alison Rostron School of Massage. She steadily built up her client base and kept studying to gain further experience and qualifications at the Jackie Hamilton School of Therapies.
Next came an opportunity to do on-site Complementary Therapy Treatments at the Virgin Money offices in Norwich. For seven years Vicki was able to help improve staff well-being as part of their employee company healthcare benefits, which helps alleviate work stress and tension.
At The Orange Grove Clinic Vicki kept improving on her range of therapies for her clients to benefit from adding Hydrotherm Massage and advanced Pregnancy Massage to her ever-evolving repertoire.
At A Fine Retreat Treatment Rooms Vicki went on to diversify and add to her skills and knowledge by studying ITEC levels 2 & 3 in Beauty Therapy with The Norwich School of Beauty.
Vicki joined the team at treat in July 2016 to work alongside highly professional like-minded practitioners. She loves being part of a Health & Wellbeing Clinic that gives a high level of holistic care to all of it's clients.
